End date: 26/03/2006 The Eastern Caribbean Geothermal Development Project (“Geo-Caraïbes”) will implement a regional strategy that will create the conditions for successful deployment of commercially viable geothermal power production and overcome the barriers to the development of geothermal power in the three Project Countries. The resulting electricity from geothermal power generation in the Commonwealth of Dominica, St. Lucia, and/or St. Kitts & Nevis will supply a large portion of the electricity requirements for each country, thereby offsetting electricity consumption from diesel-powered generation and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases of up to 250 thousand tons of CO2 per year.
